On this episode we discuss CES 2016 Best of Show winner, the Chevrolet Bolt, VR and the Adult Industry, Comcast's router ads and The CW's potential streaming app.
CES 2016 was unique this year, with a greatly increased presence of the car industry. So much so, that the Chevrolet Bolt won Digital Trends' Best of Show. It's highly worthy and definitely a great technological achievement. Also, at 30k, Chevrolet has an electric car down to a price point that general consumers can embrace.
Virtual Reality was well represented at CES this year, as it is one of the fastest growing fields in tech. Unsurprisingly, the adult industry is at the forefront of content development for this platform. Brad attended a cocktail party that showcased this and gave us a behind-the-scenes account of how it all went down. (insert porn jokes here)
Switching gears from VR, Comcast is once again in the news and not in a good way. If you use your own modem, instead of renting one of theirs, Comcast is now inserting ads into your browsers. We let you know our opinions about this, which are probably similar to yours.
For streaming content, The CW Network is following suit with many content providers and considering launching their own standalone app. It's somewhat forward thinking, but is it counter-intuitive to maintaining their audience?
Finally, Caleb gives everyone a valuable tip on where to find the best "people watching" in Las Vegas. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Today's episode features Jeffrey Van Camp, Nick Mokey, Caleb Denison, Brad Bourque and Greg Nibler.
